Founded with its initial title, Koç University Research and Project Development Directorate, in 2009, our unit went into a restructuring process in 2013 and was elected among the top ten universities to benefit from the 1513 TÜBİTAK Support Program for Technology Transfer Offices. Over the years, university-industry collaboration has increased, technology transfer, commercialization and effective management of intellectual properties have become a priority.
Following the restructuring of 2013, our name was changed into Research, Project Development and Technology Transfer Directorate. Within Turkey’s ecosystem, we are also known as “Koç University TTO”.
As one of the leading research universities in Turkey, we aim to be on the forefront in technology transfer as well. We aspire to be among the institutions that help Turkey develop high-value products and achieve competitive advantage by commercializing Koç University’s research outputs. With this vision, we aim to contribute to the development of a technology transfer culture in the country.
